Abstract

With workplace organizations experiencing an increasing concern for worker mental health, suicide prevention, and addiction recovery, many are looking for answers, but quickly get overwhelmed by the complexity of building or expanding a comprehensive, strategic, and sustainable behavioral health program. The purpose of this Quick Start Guide is to give you those first steps that will help build momentum. The aim is to use the tools outlined here to begin constructive conversations and establish buy-in from organization and industry leaders. It is not meant to be a comprehensive manual, just a way to prioritize initial action steps across several domains. While building a fully integrated Workplace Suicide Prevention, Mental Health Promotion, and Worker Well-being culture change initiative can be daunting, getting started doesn’t need to be. This “Quick Start Action” icon is a cue to take an initial step!
