An engraving forming part of a comic album of pictorial pathology ... It is at the eastern extremity of the Pont au Change where the operator has his triumphs. The genius of the Fountain of Palmier crowns the dentist. One of his particular suite disguised as a Chinaman admires the work which has been effected. A strong man of the markets, a soldier, a milliner await their turn." The dentist is brandishing a sword in his right hand upon which is engraved very clearly the classic legend ‘Without Pain’.
