Description
The collection dates from 1862 to 1948, with the bulk of the materials dating from 1862 to 1880. The collection was part of the larger Dental-Pharmacy Library Collection which was transferred to the HSHSL when the campus libraries were combined in the 1960s. This collection was separated out because it was a stand alone collection of content created by Adalbert J. Volck, graduate of the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. The collection is combrised of a series of political cartoons supporting the Confederate cause during the American Civil War. The collection is open for research; interested researchers should contact the historical collections librarian for an appointment.
