Abstract
The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), Office of Behavioral Health and Wellness (OBHW) contracted OMNI Institute to develop the Young Adult Survey (YAS) and analyze data collected from young adults aged 18-25 across the Commonwealth of Virginia. The survey was designed to assess behavioral health risk factors, substance use consumption patterns and perceptions, and gaming and gambling perceptions and behaviors. This was the second statewide YAS data collection effort, after the inaugural year in 2022. A total of 5,928 responses were collected from January to April 2024 with support from 40 Community Service Boards (CSBs) across the Commonwealth.
