    Description
Addictive disease is a brain disease and it does matter. Recent research and experience has added significantly to our knowledge base and tools for understanding, identifying, intervening in, and treating substance abuse and for supporting the recovery process. Pharmaceuticals and evidence-based counseling practices are taking their place alongside traditional approaches. This presentation helps EA professionals understand and incorporate the best of both old and new approaches to substance abuse prevention, intervention, treatment, and follow-up in the workplace. In this address, Dr. Tsuang discusses chronic disease management models that support recovery over time and medications proven to make a difference in helping people to get on and stay on the road to recovery from various addictions.
