On October 2, 2006, the world changed for one small community in rural Pennsylvania and for the first responders who arrived to assist on the devastating scene. With the help of audio clips from the Pennsylvania State Police personnel who first responded to the scene and video clips from the media documenting what happened, this presentation shows firsthand how the Amish school shooting incident unfolded, and how the Pennsylvania state Police Member Assistance Program assisted the first responders. No one who was associated with this incident left unscathed. That fateful day touched everyone involved: the parents and families of the children, the Amish community, police officers and emergency medical personnel, and our own employee assistance professionals. Hear about how this day changed their lives forever and take away from this dramatic presentation the lessons learned that can help you and other potential victims of catastrophes in the future. The image on the original recording is not clear but the audio is fine.
