This is a video of a speech by the President of the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where he references his personal experience as the son of immigrants. The occasion was the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) hosting as a group of new citizens took the oath of allegiance during a naturalization ceremony held at Westminster Hall by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), a part of the Department of Homeland Security. The ceremony was held on June 18, 2018 in advance of the international observance of World Refugee Day on June 20.Also included is the PDF of an article by Patricia Fanning on the event that appeared in UMB News on June 19, 2019.
