Founded in 1974, the Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health (CVD) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is an academic enterprise engaged in the full range of infectious disease intervention from basic laboratory research through vaccine development, pre-clinical and clinical evaluation, large-scale pre-licensure field studies, and post-licensure assessments. The research, surveillance and vaccine development of CVD focuses on four key areas: enteric diseases, malaria, influenza and respiratory diseases, and emerging pathogens. From 2015 to 2018 CVD was a part of the Institute for Global Health (IGH), which is no longer in existence. Publications of the IGH are also included in this collection in the Archive.
