Preparing for a Makerspace Implementation at a Health Sciences LibraryAbstract
Objectives: The Health Sciences and Human Services Library (HS/HSL) at University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) decided to explore the possibility of a makerspace in the library to serve as a hub of experimentation, innovation, and collaboration that will benefit our faculty and students in their education, research, patient care, and entrepreneurship. For this task, the Makerspace Task Force was formed in the spring of 2014. After three months of work, the Task Force completed the proposal for creating the Makerspace at HS/HSL in the summer of 2014. HS/HSL is planning to open the makerspace this spring.Description
