Each issue has a section entitled, "Pages from the Bulletin of yesteryears" highlighting "a few historical articles" from earlier volumes. Issue no. 3 includes an obituary with full page portrait for Charles Reid Edwards, 1888-1965, where he is described as "known for his many 'firsts' - the first gastric resection, the first surgeon to remove the gall bladder from above downward (isoperistaltic), the first to do Bancroft operation (removal of mucous membrane from remnant of pyloric antrum) for gastrectomy, the first pancreactomy (Whipple), and the first double-barrelled (split) colostomy." This article includes a photograph, of medical students with cadaver with blackboard on the foreground that reads "U. of M. - 1913 - Man's usefullness endeth not in death" followed by what seems to be familiar names of students and their state of provenance. Issues also include advertisements of medical related local businesses.
