Abstract
These are the complete Civil War reminiscences of Eugene F. Cordell, documenting his service as a member of the Army of the Confederate States of America. He published them as a serialized article appearing in "Old Maryland" between May 1906 and May 1912.Description
At head of title, the newspaper is described as "Old Maryland: Devoted to the Interests of the University of Maryland." Eugene Cordell was the editor of the newspaper when he wrote this series of articles. He identifies himself by name in one article, and states the others to be "By The Editor." The first and second articles state that they were "Read before the Library and Historical Society." Dr. Cordell was an 1868 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, who subsequently went on to become an eminent member of the Faculty, and University historiographer. He was also the first librarian of the University of Maryland.Keyword
