dc.description	During World War II many doctors and nurses from the University of Maryland’s University Hospital served in wartime hospitals; the 42nd and 142nd General Hospitals. Dr. Geroge H. Yeager, Lieutenant Colonel with the Twenty-Ninth Division National Guard, headed the 42nd General Hospital. He donated a scrapbook of University Hospital in World War II. The scrapbook includes newspaper clippings, photographs, pamphlets, and correspondence from the doctors and nurses who served in the two General Hospitals in World War II. The scrapbook’s contents are dated from April 16, 1942 to December 26, 1945.	en_US
dc.description	As with many scrapbooks there are materials pasted into the volume that are two or more pages or items hidden behind other items; when possible, all sides of the materials have been scanned and/or items behind other materials have been scanned alone. These items fall as close to possible in order within the PDF. Some items have been stitched back together to complete newspaper clippings.	en_US
