    Abstract
Since the onset of the COVID pandemic, there was growing concern that competitive athletes may be at risk for sudden cardiac death (SCD) during training and competition after exposure to COVID-19. Members of University of Maryland College Park and University of Maryland School of Medicine are part of a multi-institution effort to evaluate the prevalence of myocarditis among student athletes and determine the utility of different screening strategies, particularly the use of cardiac MRI.
