Descriptive handout distributed at the May 3, 2012 unveiling of a metal sculpture in the Southern Management Corporation (SMC) Campus Center of the University of Maryland campus located in Baltimore. The sculpture is an artistic representation of the Davidge Elm which grew outside the School of Medicine's historic Davidge Hall for almost 2 centuries. Creation of the sculpture was a collaborative effort between Dr. Bruce Jarrell and Ukrainian master blacksmith, Anatoliy Rudik. In addition to being a journeyman blacksmith, Dr. Jarrell is the University's chief academic and research officer, senior vice president, and dean of the Graduate School. A photograph of the artwork is included separately as a JPEG file.Keyword
