Abstract
Purpose : This inquiry was made at the request of Mr. Harry Greenstein, Chairman of the Council of Social Agencies, for the purpose of finding out the following : 1. What is the extent of the annual demand in Maryland for trained social workers? 2. What is the attitude of social agency Executives and Boards toward the establishment of a School of Social Work in Maryland? 3. What is the attitude of colleges in Maryland toward the establishment of a graduate School of Social Work? 4. What is the attitude of existing Schools of Social Work toward the need for a School in Maryland? 5. What would the probable first year enrollment be - both as to full time students and as to practicing social workers who would desire to take one or two courses? 6.
