Abstract
The HS/HSL 's Outreach Service Task Force organized its first virtual Day of Service in June 2020. The event was done virtually as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic and a way to make the staff feel connected while teleworking. Participants worked with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) to send emails and calls for actions and created artwork to sell for a donation to the National Bail Fund.Description
On June 23, 2020 the Health Sciences and Human Services Library staff participated in a virtual hour of service. Library staff were encouraged to set aside an hour of their work day to serve the community. Participants chose the charity, non-profit, or service of their interest and provided an hour of their time. The idea was to do something as a group to come together virtually and spread kindness in a difficult time. The series of personal narratives here are service projects done for activist causes.
