200 Years of Medicine in Baltimore: Outstanding Contributions of University of Maryland Medical Alumni and FacultyThis collection of medical vignettes is not meant to be a history of the University of Maryland School of Medicine and Hospital. Rather, it is a factual compilation of significant contributions made by its alumni, faculty members, house officers and students which have been instrumental in advancing medical knowledge. Entries of medical events starting in 1793 and a synopsis of medicine beginning in the mid-eighteenth century, described in the Foreword, provide the interested reader an account of medicine over a period of more than two hundred years in Baltimore.
