Postcard issued sometime in 2006, announcing to "Friends and Colleagues" the upcoming celebration of the University of Maryland School of Medicine Bicentennial. The announcement was issued in the name of the School's Dean, Dr. E. Albert Reece. It includes the slogan for the celebration, "The Enduring Power of Leadership."Description
The image on the recto of the postcard is of two hands holding the School of Medicine's official mace. The verso of the postcard includes a description of the mace, which is "The University of Maryland School of Medicine mace is a detailed sterling silver replica of Davidge Hall, the school's first building and the oldest structure in the United States continuously used for medical education. The mace was commissioned in 1987 by Drs. Theodore and Celeste Woodward, class of 1938, and is presented at every formal academic event."Keyword
