Abstract

Evidence based practices need to be based, primarily, on practice principles and common pracice elements, not on manuals. Increasing the uptake of evidence based methods will best be achieved by increasing knowledge of common practice elements and common factors. Adapting evidence based practices to international contexts will require emphasis on common factors.
