Description
In this letter from Walter Reed, head of the United States Army Yellow Fever Commission in Cuba, to Dr. James Carroll, Reed expresses delight at learning of Carroll's recovery from [self inflicted] Yellow Fever. Additionally, Reed expresses how Carroll's friends in Washington are also happy to hear that he is better. Reed also informs Carroll, that his wife Jennie has learned of both his illness and his recovery and while shocked she was "brave". Reed also sends his regards to Doctors Lazear and Agramonte who have so "nobly" cared for him. The letter is written with letterhead "War Department, Surgeon General's Office, Army Medical Museum and Library, Washington."
