Description
Includes three items related to the 1982 Volunteer Services Recognition Day. The first file is the program for the event, which took place on April 21, 1982. Includes remarks from hospital Director G. Bruce McFadden, Volunteer Services Director Nancy R. Brown, Volunteer Services Assistant Director Nancy Kressin, and Nancy Kowalewski of the Auxiliary; a list of volunteers and their hours worked; a list of individuals and volunteers who provided special services; and two excerpts from letters of appreciation written by patients. The second file is a letter dated May 3, 1982 written by Nancy R. Brown and sent to the Auxiliary in thanks for their support of the Volunteer Services Department. The third file is an article written by Peter Kumpa that was published in the Evening Sun on April 22, 1982. The article, titled "There are people in that other world out there who care" discusses Recognition Day and the work of hospital volunteers.
