Description
This workshop examines the societal and business factors driving the trend toward greater integration of employee assistance programs with work/life and with health and wellness services. Based on a forthcoming co-edited book, research findings are presented from recent national survey projects as well as from case studies of integration from around the world. Also discussed are the implications for the prevention and treatment of alcohol and substance abuse and mental health issues when these kinds of workplace programs are integrated. Finally, these findings are put in the context of a new conceptual model for understanding the business value of EAPs.
