Description
Origin and date unknown. Painting on paper with intricate cut-outs, laid over a backing of gold foil. Depicts Saint Apollonia holding dental forceps in her right hand and a martyr's palm in her left hand. Includes the Christian symbol of a pelican feeding its young. The inscription "S Apollonia" is painted beneath the main image. Original piece measures 12 X 8 cm.
