Abstract
In this letter, Eugene F. Cordell writes about his promotion to Lieutenant and hopes for a furlough, which has been denied. He also writes about the reverend in his regiment and the services. He writes about needing clothing, supplies, and a new sword and the difficulties in obtaining these items due to supply and costs. He also describes the punishment of a deserter from their regiment.
