Abstract
Businesses increasingly are relying on employee assistance programs (EAPs) to assist workers and their families who have substance use and mental health problems. The proportion of businesses with EAPs has more than doubled in the past 15 years from about 33% in 1995 to 75% in 2008. More than 100 million American workers are now estimated to have access to an EAP.
