Abstract
In this letter, Eugene F. Cordell describes to his mother his regiment's position on Big Sewell mountain. He describes seeing the enemy's [Union Army] position on the mountain. Cordell describes his future plans and a bout of homesickness. He describes the attire of the leading Generals as well as the food in camp.
