Description
Engraving by Giuseppe Vasi, 1710-1782 ; Undated, but presumably mid-18th C. Commanding the center of the image is the Theatre of Marcellus, with its upper courses comprising the Palazzo Orsini. Once known as a gathering-place of laborers looking to be hired for work, the plaza depicted in this image also features a dentist performing tooth extractions in the foreground.
