Abstract
Global literacy is cross-cultural fluency and responsiveness in understanding, engaging, and communicating in an interconnected world. While the University of Maryland, Baltimore should strive to foster understanding by engaging and communicating in an interconnected world, we suggest that universities should be more proactive to deliberately infuse these practices across the curriculum to develop globally literate professionals.

Description
The President's Symposium and White Paper Project is an interprofessional program that explores issues impacting the UMB community. As a component of the President's Symposium, the President’s Fellows are an interdisciplinary group of students selected to participate in a mentored fellowship while researching, developing, and writing recommendations for the University.
