Description
A stylized portrait print of the famous 16th-century French barber-surgeon Ambroise Paré, rendered in a woodcut or linocut aesthetic with sharp cross-hatching, a muted grey-green color palette, and a dark, horizontally lined background. The portrait depicts Paré as an older man with deep facial lines, a serious expression, white hair, and a full white beard. He wears a dark, buttoned doublet paired with a prominent, white pleated ruff collar characteristic of the Renaissance era. The name "WENCK" is block-printed in the upper-left corner of the image frame, and the subject's name, "Ambroise Paré", is printed below the border in an elegant, stylized Gothic blackletter typeface. Original piece measures 21 X 14 cm.
