Description
The woman depicted in Andrew Wyeth’s famous painting, Christina’s World, is the subject of the 2016 conference. Anna Christina Olson seemed to be a normal, healthy child until she began walking strangely as a toddler. This was the first manifestation of the condition that would affect her balance, mobility, and use of her hands until her death at the age of 74. Included are a description of the progressive loss of motor control experienced by Christina and Dr. Patterson's diagnosis of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
