Description
Undated, but believed possibly between 1845 and 1847. Lithograph published by Gabriel Aubert after an original work by Cham (1819-1879) -- the pseudonym of De Noé, Amédée (1819-1879). The image depicts a man showing a set of dentures to a crowd of shocked onlookers. Constitutes Plate 3 in the series Célebrités Charivariques; this item is a leaf which was removed from the periodical “Le Charivari,” (exact issue number unknown). Original piece measures 25 X 35 cm. Estimated date of publishing taken from the date of death of Gabriel Aubert (1847) and the location of the publisher (1845).
