Description
In May of 1976, the Auxiliary changed its name from the "Woman's Auxiliary of the University of Maryland Hospital" to the "Auxiliary of University of Maryland Hospital" and was reincorporated under the new name. Includes correspondence between the Auxiliary's lawyer, W. Michel Pierson, and Mrs. Barbara K. Scherlis regarding their application for tax exemption as well as a copy of the application and letters from the District Director of the Internal Revenue Service. Also includes a handwritten note from W. Michel Pierson to Mrs. Scherlis thanking her for a gift he received from the Auxiliary in recognition of his assistance.
