Description
The creator is a staff member of the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Acrylic on Canvas, 60X40 Davidge Hall

Artist's narrative: As our infectious disease experts move forward with a solution for COVID-19 I think of the critical work our experts did back in the 1800s with Typhoid and other serious infectious diseases. Davidge Hall is a symbol of our work over the centuries to make an impact in the world. In this pandemic, it gives me great hope that we are working with the best infectious disease and vaccine researchers in the world here at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
During the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Historical Collections Department of the HS/HSL solicited personal narratives, artwork, photographs, etc. from UMB Community members to document their experiences during the crisis. The project was titled, “UnMasking a Pandemic: Stories from UMB during COVID-19.” This is a piece received through this project.
