Undated engraving by Edme de Boulonois (active 17th century). The image is a portrait of Andreas Vesalius (1514-1564). Vesalius was not a dentist as such, but rather the great anatomist of Padua, dubbed by many scholars as the father of anatomy ; original piece measures 25 X 21 cm.
