Volume is Dr. Nathan Ryno Smith’s handwritten Surgery lectures for the session beginning October 1829 at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine. Lectures include: Introductory Lecture, Chemistry, Practice of Surgery, Pathology, Inflammation, Nervous System, Treatment of Irritation, Inflammation of the Skin, and Burns. The document includes corrections and marginalia. The back of the volume includes a list of student names, including a private class list.
Included in the scan, are two documents: 1886 University of Maryland Faculty of Physic Commencement Program with handwritten notes and a four page typewritten note about Dr. Smith.
