Promising research results do not automatically or easily translate into programs, interventions, and clinical practices that improve health, resulting in a gap between research and practice – also known as the valleys of death. The science of implementation and dissemination is an emerging, multidisciplinary field that aims to improve the relevance and uptake of research-based knowledge in real-world settings.
