Abstract
In this letter, Eugene F. Cordell writes to his father, Levi O'Connor Cordell about his bid for the 3rd Lieutenancy in his regiment. Cordell was unsucessful in earning the Lieutenant position. He discusses his plan to either apply for the Sergeant Majorship or move on to another regiment. He also writes about his need for new clothing.
