Description
Facsimile of an original watercolor by Trilussa, the pseudonym of Carlo Alberto Salustri, renowned Italian poet and journalist who also created many satirical works of art related to dentistry. The image depicts a group of seven people gathered at a doorbell. One of the men in the crowd wears a bandage across his jaw. Bears caption “Caricatura di Trilussa.” Undated, but bearing an inscription at top dated 1928. Printed by Arti Grafiche, Panetto & Petrelli, Spoleto. Trilussa was a close friend of Dr. Arrigo Piperno of Rome, from whose collection we acquired this and several other Trilussa works. Original piece measures 17 X 24 cm.
