Description
One of 2 clinicopathological conferences held in 2002, this presentation explored the cause of the agonizing death of King Herod. Included are his medical history, description of his deteriorating health in the words of Herod’s biographer, Flavius Josephus, and treatment of his symptoms. Dr. Hirschmann’s diagnosis is that Herod died of uremia complicated by Fournier gangrene.
