This finding aid describes the Willard M. Hillegeist Historical Research on the University of Maryland Collection. The collection includes notes and materials collected by Willard M. Hillegeist. As registrar and later Director of Admissions to the University of Maryland, Hillegeist was tasked to write the history of the University of Maryland. At the time of his research, College Park and Baltimore were one University; therefore, the items in this collection tell the history of both the University of Maryland, College Park and the University of Maryland, Baltimore. The collection also includes proofs of historical publications written by Hillegeist.
