Abstract
This finding aid describes the Dr. Abraham N. Kaplan Papers. Dr. Abraham Nathan Kaplan was a general practitioner from Brooklyn, New York. The Abraham Nathan Kaplan Papers contain class notes from his time at the University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) dating from 1929 to 1931, biographical information dating from 1929 to 1997, and patient medical records dating from 1979 to 1985. The class notes cover Physiology, Preventative Medicine, Mental Hygiene, Clinical Medicine, Psychiatry, as well as Ear, Nose and Throat courses. The medical records are restricted.

Collection located in Historical Collections of the Health Sciences and Human Services Library, University of Maryland, Baltimore.
Collection was donated in two parts by Bonnie Kaplan, daughter of Abraham N. Kaplan, to the Health Sciences and Human Services Library. The first set of materials (lecture notes and medical records) were received August 4, 2021 and the second set of materials (biographical materials) were received August 20, 2021.
Collection is dated 1929-1997 but the bulk of the collection falls between 1929-1931 and 1979-1985.
