Abstract

Conference presentation summarizing applied research for EAP and Nurse advice line telephonic services that link work outcomes and health outcomes for users of the services in national data. An employer case study is also presented for Fairview Health Services (a hospital located in Minnesota) which created an integrated health risk management service with EAP, NurseLine, workplace wellness and prevention, and high-risk case management in collaboration with the healthcare system. The study compared program users and non-users over 3 years with number of health risks, medical costs, workers' compensation costs, employee turnover, and abseneteiusm costs. A The Fairview Alive Program won the C. Everett Koop National Award for excellence in health promotion.
