Purpose : This inquiry was made at the request of Mr. Harry Greenstein, Chairman of the Council of Social Agencies, for the purpose of finding out the following :

  1. What is the extent of the annual demand in Maryland for trained social workers?

  2. What is the attitude of social agency Executives and Boards toward the establishment of a School of Social Work in Maryland?

  3. What is the attitude of colleges in Maryland toward the establishment of a graduate School of Social Work?

  4. What is the attitude of existing Schools of Social Work toward the need for a School in Maryland?

  5. What would the probable first year enrollment be - both as to full time students and as to practicing social workers who would desire to take one or two courses?

  6. What are the usual fees at Schools of Social Work?
