Presentation on the topic of conducting service evaluation research in applied settings during the managed care era of employee benefits. Focus on older age adult users of EAP and nurse advice health support services delivered 24/7 over the telephone nationally in the USA. Data examples of why people age 50+ call a counselor or call a nurse. Data on outcomes from surveys of service users in 1998: 95% got health information needed; 89% better informed on health issue; 87% stress level reduced; 75% physical well-being is better; 75% personal relationships better.
