|Description: ||Brochure highlighting the innovative work of UMB’s three 2018 Entrepreneurs of the Year, Dr. Thomas Scalea, Dr. Deborah Stein, and Dr. Steven Hanish. The team was the first to use the Molecular Adsorbent Recirculating System (MARS) at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. The “dialysis machine for the liver” proved successful replacing hepatic function in patients experiencing acute liver failure. The presentation held during Founders Week was entitled, "Supporting Failing Organs".|
